2024 Activities
Our programs and organizational developments in 2024 have positioned us to support anti-racism activities by individuals and local groups in 2025 and beyond.
Here are some examples of our work this year.
- We cosponsored “Heeding King’s Call” with Grace and Race Ministries. We are in conversation with local groups that we expect to partner with as we develop resources for non-violent anti-racism action in 2025.
- We launched our online Anti-Racism Calendar where each month features federal holidays and other significant dates in the struggle to end racism.
- We produced a printed 2025 Anti-Racism wall calendar and are sending them to everyone who makes a donation (while supplies last).
- We began planning for the 2026 print calendar, which will highlight dates that relate to the Constitution. These monthly resources will be added to the online calendar throughout 2025.
- The Directory of local anti-racism organizations was streamlined with new features to facilitate adding and finding local organizations. We are positioned to greatly increase the list of local organizations in the year ahead.
- We partnered with the Elaine (Arkansas) Legacy Center to establish Friends of Elaine. In 2025 we will identify additional opportunities for people to engage with descendants of the 1919 massacre of African American citizens.
- We partnered with the Arlington House Descendants’ Family Circle to work on passage of legislation to redesignate “Arlington House, the Robert E. Lee Memorial” as “Arlington House National Historic Site” to reflect the fullness of all the history connected to the site. In 2025 this partnership will help us understand how we can support anti-racism legislation during the Trump administration.
- We added to the resources published on the Ending Racism USA website. In 2025 the site will be updated so there are more pointers to the related material and invitations to join the mailing list or take other action.
- We added Bluesky to our social media outreach (in addition to Facebook). Bluesky was selected as an alternative to X (formerly Twitter), which we had stopped using following our virtual Town Hall event titled "Yes to Social Media, No to Twitter" in August 2023. Watch the newsletter for more details about our presence on Bluesky.
- There is more. Reviewing the website is the best way for you to see all that we accomplished in 2024.
